Overview

In a world of disposable objects, we believe in creating things that last. Oral-B has reimagined an everyday essential, the humble toothbrush, and together we transformed it into an object of beauty, performance, and permanence.
The result is clic, a system that marries precision engineering with sustainable design.

Our Contribution

Our Contribution

When the challenge came to design a premium, long-lasting manual toothbrush with replaceable heads, our response was pretty much, "Hold my beer." Frankly, the idea felt like a no-brainer, one of those concepts that just makes perfect sense from the start.
This clarity let us bypass the usual creative roadblocks and dive headfirst into exploring different design avenues. We developed a range of concepts and built high-fidelity models. The journey led us to the final design direction, featuring its now-iconic diagonal cut. This slice of style does more than just look good; it elegantly highlights the separation point between the two parts, giving the brush a dynamic look that’s confident but not loud. We carried that diagonal theme over to the rubberized thumb rest, creating a unique, grippy pattern.
Later, the project was handed over to the exceptional Oral-B Design Team and their engineers. They took the vision and perfected it, engineering the brilliant ball joint that lets you feel the quality of the product with every satisfying clic.

Sustainable Architecture (The Replaceable System)
At the core of the Clic’s design philosophy is an eco-conscious blueprint. Instead of disposing of the entire toothbrush every three months, users retain 80% of the product (the premium handle) and only swap the brush head. This clever architecture reduces total plastic waste by up to 60% over two years compared to traditional manual brushes.

Premium Metallic Handle & Ergonomics
Departing from the lightweight, disposable aesthetic of standard plastic toothbrushes, the Clic features a durable handle made from a premium metallic composite material. It is intentionally weighted and perfectly balanced, giving it a distinctive, substantial feel in the hand. Available in sleek finishes like Matte Black, Chrome Silver, and Onyx, its minimalist silhouette mimics luxury lifestyle products rather than a traditional medical tool.

Magnetic Magic

To elevate the product beyond standard sink-counter clutter, the Clic includes a sleek, minimalist magnetic holder. This small metallic disc can be mounted to almost any bathroom surface (such as a mirror or wall tile). The toothbrush magnetically snaps to it, suspending the brush elegantly in mid-air. This serves a dual purpose: it turns the brush into a visual statement piece while keeping the bristles completely elevated away from standard sink-top bacteria, allowing it to air-dry hygienically.
